Referee development across the country has been increasing over the years and much of that work is credited to USA Rugby High Performance Referee Manager Richard Every. Originally from South Africa, Every has an extensive rugby background that includes 12 years as a player and more than 20 years as a referee. He has brought this experience and knowledge to the United States as USA Rugby’s High Performance Referee Manager, overseeing the highest-level referees around the country.
USA Rugby is pleased to have Every’s presentation at the 2014 National Development Summit (NDS) in Philadelphia. His presentation will focus on helping local referees create a game with a balanced environment that allows for teams to compete fairly. Every will also share insights and statistics to identify trends, strengths, and weaknesses in referees, referee performance reviewers, and teams.
“It has always amazed me that every day you learn something about rugby, and the NDS is a compact, all-in-one environment where you have access to an immense amount of knowledge and insight into the game,” Every said.
Be sure to join Every, national team coaches and other exciting presenters at the 2014 National Development Summit Feb. 21-23 at the Hyatt Regency at Penn’s Landing in Philadelphia, Penn.
