BOULDER, CO – An in-depth look that has never been given before is now being presented to all fans. Following the USA women’s rugby team on its every move in preparation for the 2012 Fall Tour to Europe is usawomensrugby.org. The site offers fans more than just a glimpse into the world of the team, but shadows players in their efforts of representing the country.
Up-to-date coverage, highlights including game coverage, player pools and rosters, video highlights, as well as a new series Follow the Eagles, which documents the trials of players throughout the teams journey, will be included.
“I think the launch of this site really gives people not only a chance to follow the team on a statistical level, but allows players to truly see how someone makes the team,” said head coach Pete Steinberg on the unveiling of usawomensrugby.org.
In conjunction with Eagle365.net, usawomensrugby.org provides an up-close and personal look at what goes into earning a spot on the national team roster. While usawomensrugby.org provides a showcase for the work going into the national team, Eagle 365 is for players and potential players to get access to resources to improve.
“Support for the team has steadily grown over the past few years, but I feel that this launch [of usawomensrugby.org] will without a doubt boost those numbers to an unprecedented level,” Steinberg mentioned. “Having the ability to follow your favorite player and knowing those intricate details of the work they put into making the team drives others to put in the work as well.”
The site will follow the USA women’s national team through all of its practices, tours, and games surrounding the 2012 Fall Tour. All events supporting the team will also be covered at usawomensrugby.org.
Coverage will begin with the team camp at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. The camp is slated to run from September 20-23.
The Women’s Eagles will be playing Italy and France twice in November on its tour of Europe.
