Stars & Stripes 2015

What: The 3rd Annual USA Rugby High School Stars and Stripes game will conclude the four day Stars and Stripes Camp. Players will be selected from teams competing in one of seven Regional Cup Tournaments (RCTs) with selections made by USA Rugby selectors. During the camp, players will be split into two squads under the direction of the High School All American Head Coaches, Salty Thompson and Farrah Douglas.

When: Tuesday, July 21, 2015 - Saturday July 25, 2015

Where: University of Northern Colorado. Greeley, Colorado

Who: The top 50 Boys and top 50 Girls selected from Regional Cup Tournaments, selected by our USA Rugby High School All American Staff.

Cost: The cost of the camp is $250, all players selected to attend the camp will be sent a form with information on how to make that payment.


The Beginning of the Player Pathway

USA Rugby’s Stars and Stripes Game is the first step in the elite player development program. Players identified for this program are future Eagles! Players like USA National Sevens Team player, Richelle Stephens, nationally represneted her country in the 2015 NACRA Sevens Championship, where they qualified for the Rio 2016 Olympic Summer Games.


Player Information

Invitations to the Stars v Stripes Camp will go out on Friday, July 3rd.

Confirmation of the players accepting the invitations will be due the following Monday, July 6th.

All paperwork sent to players attending the Camp will be due by Friday, July 10th.

The $250 fee for all players attending the Camp will be due by Friday, July 17th.

All attending players will need to fly into the Denver International Airport (DIA)on Tuesday, July 21 by 11:30am. USA Rugby staff will be there to greet all arriving players. At 12:30pm the bus will transport all players from DIA to the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley.

After the Stars v Stripes game at the end of the camp on Saturday, July 25, all players will be transported by bus back to DIA by 2:00pm. All return flights should be booked for no earlier than 3:00pm.


Coaching Information

Coaches with aspirations to learn more about representative and select sides should apply to become an assistant coach at the Stars and Stripes Camp. A minimum Level 200 certification is required, as is a background check.
