USOC Coach of the Year Nominations!
Nominate a candidate for the United States Olympic Committee's Volunteer Coach of the Year Award.
This month the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) is accepting nominations for their Volunteer Coach of the Year Award. The award is given to unpaid coaches at any level of the sport. The award is based on the the accomplishments of the coach in the year 2011. Application criteria also includes the candidate's contribution to the sport, the service of the coach to the community, and the character of the coach.
Last year, David Farmer, a youth rugby coach from Aurora, Colorado, won this dstinguished award from the USOC. He was given the award due to his service and committment to the young men he coached, teaching them discipline and accountability. He gave the young men he coached hope by creating scholarships and fundraisers that would help them participate no matter their financial background. Farmer was dedicated to spreading the joy and camraderie of rugby and the USOC recognized his contribution to the great sport of rugby and his contribution to the lives of the young men he coached.
