Support the Four Oakland Angels
USA Rugby would like to send its deepest condolences to the families of the four Oakland Angels who were killed on their way back from Vegas Sevens on February 11. Rachel Fisi'iahi, 19, David Moa, 19, George Moa, 19, and Malia Moa, 17, were just 50 miles southwest of Bakersfield, California, when the accident occurred. Hunter Halatoa, 17, is currently being hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries suffered in the accident.
David and George were members of the Oakland Warthogs, as is Hunter. Malia and Rachel were also rugby players.
"The whole rugby community was shocked and saddened by the news that four young players with so much before them had been taken from us," USA Rugby CEO and President of Rugby Operations Nigel Melville said. "Our thoughts are with the families, friends and teammates of these four young men and women as they try to come to terms with their loss."
Outreach from the rugby community has been immense, including Men's Eagles Sevens player Blaine Scully's visit to the hospital room of Hunter Halatoa and Men's Eagles Head Coach Mike Tolkin's letter to Oakland Warthogs President Ryan Burke.
Please visit the donation page and help support the cost of the funerals for Rachel Fisi'iahi, David Moa, George Moa and Malia Moa.
