Palefau began playing rugby at the age of 18 and attended Southern Utah University, also earning a spot on the AIG Men’s Collegiate All-Americans. He made his Men’s Eagles debut May 25, 2005, against Canada in Tokyo and has 11 total caps. Palefau played for the Men’s Eagles Sevens in the 2005 Rugby World Cup Sevens and played professionally for Narbonne in France and Petrarca in Italy before taking a break from international rugby from 2009-2011. He led the Men’s Eagles Sevens in tries and points during the 2011-12 IRB Sevens World Series and is still one of the Men’s Eagles Sevens’ all-time leading scorers.
