GLENDALE, Colo. -- The Tampa Bay Krewe and New Orleans are set for the Men's Club Division II National Championship on Sunday after defeating the San Diego Old Aztecs and Fresno respectively, to advance to the title game.
Tampa Bay was under pressure early from a very sharp Old Aztec attack and throughout the first half, both teams were struggling to find their rhythm.
After numerous lead changes and a few scares late in the game, the Krewe pulled away and were able to close out and capitalize on an ill-advised Aztec pass off the deck straight into the arms of the Tampa Bay winger who scored the try that proved to be the nail in the coffin.
In the match prior to the Krewe victory, New Orleans cruised through Fresno and were dominant with the boot and were able to ear down the Fresno side that looked to tire with every tackle.
The final score was 38-17.
Tampa Bay v. New Orleans will kick off at 1:30 p.m. MT and will be webcast live at http://www.ustream.tv/usarugby.
