USA Rugby has appointed a Women's College Strategic Committee to create a plan for the growth of women’s collegiate rugby. The WCSC, drawn from women's collegiate coaching ranks, has stated a vision intended to launch women’s collegiate rugby successfully into the NCAA, and to also provide robust competition.

The USA Rugby Board of Directors approved a new administrative and competitive structure for intercollegiate rugby. Over a three-year period, collegiate rugby will transition to a conference-based structure in order to accommodate increased participation and to ease the administrative burden of collegiate programs.
