Two USA Rugby National Champions were crowned on Saturday, May 4 at Steuber Stadium in Palo Alto, Calif. Penn State and Washington State fought their way to the finals and came away with big wins to be named the Emirates Airline USA Rugby Women’s College DI and DII National Champions, respectively.
Day one of the 2013 Emirates Airline USA Rugby Women’s College DI & DII National Championships ended with two shutouts by Penn State and Washington, a strong finish by Winona, and an exciting back and forth match between Stanford and the 2012 DII Champions Norwich.
The Penn State, Navy and Norwich women’s rugby teams will join Stanford in California this weekend for the 2013 Emirates Airline USA Rugby Women’s Collegiate DI National Championship Semifinals at Stanford University’s Steuber Rugby Stadium May 3.
