About

Yale Women's Rugby Football Club (YWRFC) is a competitive club team, playing against women's rugby teams in the Ivy League (competing prior to 2012 in the New England Rugby Football Union's College Division I). Comprised primarily of undergraduate women, the team currently has 25 active players of all class years as well as several graduate affiliates. YWRFC competes as both a 15s and 7s team throughout the year, and is supported by the Yale Club Sports Department as well as the Friends of Yale Rugby and Friends of Yale Women's Rugby alumni associations.
Founded in 1978, the Yale Women's Rugby Football Club is one of the oldest women's collegiate rugby teams in the nation. Current players have been distinguished with All-Ivy recognitions, while alums have gone on to great rugby success with competitive women's club teams throughout the country and across the world.

Prospective Players

YWRFC encourages Yale women of all abilities and athletic backgrounds to join them -- no prior experience in rugby is necessary or expected. The team practices Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays throughout both the spring and the fall, with tournaments and games on Saturdays.
