The Syracuse Hammerheads enjoy a strong tradition of athletic success combined with community and campus support. We compete at the D-1AA and D-3 levels within the Empire Rugby Conference. The Empire Rugby Conference is made up of Syracuse, Binghamton, Buffalo, Brockport, St. Bonaventure, Kings Point, Iona, Stony Brook, Rutgers, Fordam, and West Point. We are a club organization within Syracuse University.
Syracuse University Rugby club was established in 1969. Syracuse Rugby competes in the Empire Rugby Conference, and in 2009 Syracuse made its first appearance in to national sweet 16. Also won multiple championships in the former NYS rugby conference.

Prospective Players

No experience needed, the majority of our starting side began playing rugby in college with no previous experience. We are looking for hardworking, driven individuals who are interested in joining a tradition filled and historically successful rugby club. We currently have over 60 players on our roster and provide plenty of opportunity for everyone to play. The club has travel on tour to many countries such as England (2007), Argentina (2010), and Scotland (2012).
