St. Bonaventure University rugby is a D1-AA team competing in the Empire Rugby Conference. The Bonnies are one of the most popular teams SBU, drawing enthusiastic support from the campus community. Currently the team is preparing to compete in the D1-AA Sweet 16 this April, the Bonnies first trip to the national tournament
"SBU Rugby was founded in 1975. The team moved up to Division 1 in 2009. NYS Rugby Conference Division 2 Champions -1993 -1998 -2004 -2007 -2008 Upstate Tournament Division 1 Champions -2011 Little Three Cup Champions -2011 -2012 Empire Rugby Conference - West Division Champions -2011"
