The University of New Mexico Rugby team is a competitive intercollegiate rugby club, open to all students of the University. UNM Rugby provides a safe and fun environment for respectful, motivated, and committed athletes. No experience is necessary
"The University of New Mexico (UNM) Women's Rugby team was established in the year 2000 and has been a great representative for the state of New Mexico. In the past 12 years the UNM Women's Rugby team has qualified to participate in the United States Western Division Playoffs 6 years in a row. In 2008, the UNM Women's Rugby team qualified for the United States Sweet Sixteen in Pittsburgh, PA and defeated the United States Navel Academy to qualify for the United States Final Four in Palo Alto, CA. 2009 we qualified for the Sweet Sixteen in Orlando, FL, and we are currently the #1 seed in the Western United States. Since the year 2000 the UNM rugby program has developed 8 All-American female rugby players, 5 United States Western All-Star players, and Jillion Potter; the first Lobo rugby player to become a United States Women's Eagle."
