UMWRFC is a Division I Collegiate Women's Rugby Club team. We belong to the Big Ten Universities Eastern Conference and play against other notable Big Ten Schools such as Michigan State, Ohio State, and Penn State. Women's Rugby is also designated as a Club Sport at the University of Michigan and has a strong tradition of athletic and academic excellence.

There are many different fields that we may play on throughout the year. Check out the Schedule and Field Locations tabs on our website for more detailed maps and directions.

The club was founded in 1980 and has continued to improve from its inception. The club was a Division II team until 2008 after doing extremely well at the DII National Championship tournament. UM moved into the Division I Midwest Conference the following year. In 2009, 2010 UM was the Eastern Midwest division champions and in 2010 won the Midwest Championship and went on to the Sweet 16 round of the National Championship tournament in 2011. UM then moved to the Big Ten Universities conference in 2012.
