About

Fordham University Rugby Football Club is a university club sport that competes with teams throughout the northeast. Fordham Rugby enjoys a strong tradition of success both on and off the pitch, featuring a full coaching staff and an excellent alumni network. Fordham Rugby is a founding member of the Empire Rugby Conference and competes annually with West Point, Rutgers, St. Bonaventure, Iona, Syracuse, Binghamton, Buffalo, SUNY Brockport, Stony Brook, and Kings Point. We participate in Divison IAA of USA Rugby college rugby. We are members of the Club Sports Association at Fordham, a division of the Athletics Department.

Any current student at Fordham or prospective recruit should complete our recruit information template on oru team website (coming Spring 2013). FURFC accepts all interested students, of all skill and fitness levels, with any or no rugby experience. Any students interested in playing need only come out to practice and join in. No experience necessary. We welcome players with experience, and players that are new to the game. We have over 40 players on the squad and everyone gets to play. Only equipment necessary for practice is cleats and a mouthguard. No level of experience is required, the majority of our starting side began playing rugby in college with no previous experience.
