About

The UConn Rugby Football Club is a Tier II University of Connecticut club. We compete throughout the North East at the Division 1-AA level and enjoy a long tradition of athletic success, community outreach, and campus support. The UCRFC is a member of the East Coast Rugby Conference, annually competing with Northeastern University, UMass, Middlebury College, Boston College, University of Albany, Fairfield University, New England College, and American International College. We practice and play at Depot Campus Field, which the University grooms consistently throughout the season. UCRFC maintains close relations with its alumni, working to connect players and former players in the best interests of the program. We are a team that forms a brotherhood based on respect, honor, discipline, and hard work

Prospective Players

UConn Rugby Club is always willing to take in new members of any size, fitness, or experience levels. We practice Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-8pm and Wednesdays from 5-7pm, with matches on Saturdays. Our field is a five minute ride from campus, and transportation to and from practice is provided. Our season runs from the week before the fall semester to mid-November, along with a spring semester of scrimmages and weekend tournaments. Only a mouthguard and cleats are needed to play the game. While we do not have formal strength and condition sessions at this point, it is encouraged and expected that all players are in the gym and increasing their physical capabilities on days when we do not have practice. Interested players should email the team at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
