About "The UConn Rugby Football Club is a Tier III University of Connecticut club. We compete throughout the North East at the Division 1 level and enjoy a long tradition of athletic success, community outreach, and campus support.
The UCRFC is a member of the East Coast Rugby Conference, annually competing with Northeastern University, UMass, Middlebury College, Boston College, UAlbany, Southern Connecticut State University, and American International College.
We play at the recently renovated Depot Campus Field, which the University grooms consistently throughout the season. UCRFC maintains close relations with its alumni, working to connect players and former players in the best interests of the program. This has led to an annual endowment program awarded to an experienced freshman player. The UConn rugby club and its alumni also run the annual Bocephus Tournament in Hartford, CT."
Prospective Players"The UConn Rugby Club is always willing to take in new members of any size, fitness, or experience levels.
We practice Tuesdays and Thursdays, generally from 6-8, and hold matches on Saturdays. Our field is a five minute ride from campus, and transportation to and from practice is provided.
Our season runs from the week before the fall semester to early November, along with a spring semester of scrimmages and weekend tournaments. Only a mouthguard and cleats are needed to play the game.
Interested players should email the team at
