Claremont College

About

The Claremont Foxes is the women's rugby team of the Claremont Colleges (Pomona, Claremont McKenna, Scripps, Pitzer, and Harvey Mudd). We are a Division 2 team that plays against teams throughout the Southern California region, including USC, Cal State Northridge, Cal Lutheran, Occidental, UC Irvine, Cal State Fullerton, CSU Long Beach, and UC Riverside. The Foxes are a tight knit community of athletes and friends who share a love for rugby. The team has many traditions, including a holiday party with a "Secret Rugger" gift exchange, an end-of-season party, and "Prom Rugby." We always welcome new players, no experience necessary!

Prospective Players

The Foxes accept all interested students, of all skill and fitness levels, with any or no rugby experience. Any students interested in playing need only come out to practice and join in. No experience is necessary--we welcome players with experience and players that are new to the game. We practice every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 4:15 to 6:15 PM at Linde Field on Harvey Mudd's campus. We practice in the fall from September to December, but the competitive season is in the Spring, from January to April. The only equipment necessary for practice is cleats and a mouthguard. Again, no level of experience is required, the majority of our members began playing rugby in college with no previous experience.
