About"The Arizona State Women's Rugby Football Club is a university club sport that competes with teams throughout the southwest. Arizona State Women's Rugby Football Club enjoys a strong tradition of athletic success combined with community and campus support. The Arizona State University Women's Rugby team is a member of the Pacific Mountain West Rugby Conference and competes annually with these UCSD, UCSB, UCLA, and University of Arizona. We participate in Division 1 of USA Rugby college rugby. We are members of the ASU Sports Club Association. Our alumni play a large role in supporting our club and are always happy to come out for our bi-annual alumni game. We also participate in the growth of rugby by putting on youth clinics and traveling to elementary and middle school physical education classes."
"The Arizona State University Women’s Rugby Football Club was formed in 1994. No games were won until a new coaching staff came on during the 1997-1998 season. The team has been conference champions four times in the past eleven seasons and has gone to the collegiate rugby Final Four once, Elite Eight once and the Sweet Sixteen twice in the past ten years. Four ASU players were selected to represent the USA against England, France, Canada, New Zealand and Australia together with the 2003 World Cup in Barcelona, and they play regularly in international 7’s play. At least one ASU player has been selected as an All American almost every year since 1999. Our current coaches have more than one hundred years combined coaching, officiating, playing and administration experience in rugby football."
