Bentley Women's Rugby club is currently seeking an assistant coach (back specialty preferred) for our upcoming season. The team currently competes in Rugby Northeast, Division II collegiate conference.
As a college-level team, we have both experienced and inexperienced players. We plan to have both A- and B-side games every weekend (provided the other team has enough players). Additionally, our team has experience in both 15s and 7s play. It is expected that the coaching strategies will be molded to fit our team's skill-set. Bentley women have a history of being competitive, winning the Division III National Championship in 2010 and hope to continue this tradition with a new group of younger players.
For the position of assistant coach, we are looking for a motivating, responsible, and active individual who will make a positive contribution to our program. Prior experience playing and/or coaching rugby is preferred. As an assistant coach, the expected time commitment includes two 2-hour practices (Tuesday and Thursdays) each week and games every weekend while in-season. As a club team, we play two seasons, fall (early September to late November depending on playoffs) and spring (Mid-March to early May). Duties include running drills at practices, assisting in the creation line-ups for each game, and aiding with administrative duties. Our current head coach came into this role having been our forwards coach for a year prior. She is willing to work collaboratively with the assistant.
The position is paid hourly and competitive with other college rugby programs. Although a paid position, a working visa is not included.
